Two Little New Bits of Music…
In the early summer I wrote two small musical presents. One for the four members of Brisk Recorder Quartet Amsterdam, which in the upcoming season celebrates its 20th anniversary with the program VINTAGE. Six composers contributed a one-minute intermezzo to the festive proceedings that will take place on December, 3 in the Muziekgebouw at the IJ. To honour the angelic role traditionally alloted to the recorder and in celebration of the airy virtuosity the ensemble strives for I wrote Catch (an Angel). Brisk has played the première on september 23 in Paris, at the Institut Neérlandais. Has appeared on CD in december!
The other present was in honour of Coosje Wijzenbeek, the renowned Dutch violin pedagogue. It is a short piece for string quartet: The Kiss.
