Dutch composer in Zeist Music Days: Trio for Clarinet, Violin and Piano

august 25 2010- I don’t usually announce performances except first ones, but this is a very special occasion. ZMD-logoThe Zeist Music Days’ artistic director, Alexander Pavlovsky (a musician of great reknown, especially as the first violinist of the Jerusalem Quartet) played my trio for clarinet, violin and piano with two of the musicians who gave the piece its first performance – Nancy Braithwaite, clarinet, and Bas Verheijden, piano, both of them musicians of great reknown too, and deserving even greater…
The concert was one in the beautiful series of concerts that mr. Pavlovsky programmed (aided by a huge and extremely dedicated number of volunteers) between August 14 and August 28 in the Zeist Music Days that are traditionally being held in the spiritually as well as acoustically uplifting surroundings of the Church of the Moravian Brotherhood. It is entirely apt to have a Dutch composer in this festival, and I am happy it’s me (and I hope the audience is happy too)!

I am especially honored, as a Dutch composer, to be included in a concert that features such musicians as violinist Shmuel Askenasi, pianist Robert Kulek, and the Utrecht String Quartet (that recently played my Guitar Quintet Over the Water in the Netherlands and in the UK).

You might want to listen to the premiere recording or have a look at the sheet music.
